Love this. 🤣 And I refuse to ride in a car when Damien is driving because his driving gives me a panic attack. I like to be in control. And he likes getting driven around!
I LOVE this story. In part because I always always crave knowing that other people's past versions went on church youth groups mostly to make out with boys (ok you didn't exactly say that, but) --- but also + mostly b/c damn, a tight, well-contained and funny story in my morning inbox = life-giving.
Oh man, that’s awesome! One of the most amazing qualities of my wife Sara is her capacity to “accept the man drives”--by which I mean, she has recognized that driving like a mad man is so important to me that she just accepts it.
What does it say about me that I read that as him saying that he had sexual drives that needed to be accepted (and perhaps weren't fulfilled to his expectations?). If he meant driving a car then it's still icky, but less so.
lol. I thought this was going to be about how you have to accept that having difficult conversations with men (usually a significant other) involves going on drives where you don’t look at each other, just the road forward (as I did with my husband this last weekend as we talked about potentially having kids hahaha)
So many great lines in here. Summer of missionary love just one of many. I love how being together in person pulls these stories out of one. The body / life is a wild storytelling machine! Fingers crossed for last drive there but also, beautiful moment of gratitude on Bryan’s part.
Great story and very funny!
Thank you!
Remind me to tell you about the ex who wanted to know if when I came to visit I'd sit in the middle seat of his pickup truck (I never visited).
😂😂😂

Nice!
OMG I am DEAD. 🤣 I miss you Jen.

Ha! Totally! I was amazed at what I learned at our Catholic 'retreats'!
Oh my gosh, church camp was ALL ABOUT making out with boys from other churches!!

My first thought too. I thought it was going to be his clumsy attempt at explaining that dudes have urges.
Fabulous ❤️

haha oh my. Trapped in a moving car! 😳
Great story! I’m giggling.
🙊
Hahahaha!
Ha! This was a great story. Also, please never tell my wife the "accept that the man drives," part, 'cause I hate driving. :)
