Wiley sounds awesome, and good on you for taking him in! Sounds like he’s wired the same way as Gizmo; impossibly sweet until a stranger shows up, when he becomes a smaller version of Cujo.
What brings me home and/or peace? Mt. Hood. And since I cant just look out the window, pics have to do.
Wow, what a strong visual connection. Similarly, loons and recordings of loon calls make me feel very connected to Minnesota. When I hear them, I’m immediately transported back in time.
I love the connection you drew here between leading/calming Wiley, and your own paths to peace. Thank you. And I just spent some aspirational minutes on the Doe Bay website picking a cabin for an as-yet unplanned future trip....gorgeous.
So good, Jennifer. Well worth the wait. 😉. Practically speaking I have two dogs that sound ferocious when someone approaches the house. So I will try your calming leash approach. Emotionally speaking, carving out those sacred moments just to read, ponder or just sit with coffee. Reading books that inspire and bring wonder to me is so important.
But much more connection to your thoughts I won’t blabber on about here. ❤️
Hugs to you and Wiley. Thank you for giving him a home after his owner passed. That speaks volumes on your character-- love it. ❤️
Aw thanks.
Yes! I love your list for me I would add bubble baths, improv games and spending time with family doing something fun.
Great list! I love that improv is something that grounds you.

When I lived in Seattle, I loved looking at Mt Rainier, and now I'm in the PDX, I can see Mt Hood AND Mt St Helens!
if you want a postcard of Mt Hood...

Time well spent!

what an awesome prompt--asking for our tethers!
for me, it's being home and working on my various crafts (different kinds of paper crafting, different kinds of needlework)
and, oddly enough, doing a 'mindless' houseworky task like ironing, folding laundry, scrubbing pots
see y'all Sunday?
