I love cherry blossom season! There is a nearby street lined with cherry trees that I love to walk down this time of year. And the cherry trees on our UW campus (a gift from Japan!) are about to bloom.
I am celebrating one year of Eastside Improv! I started organizing it because I wanted to do improv in Redmond, WA. I keep organizing it because the community & individuals involved are amazing and I still want to do improv in Redmond. 🤣
What?! 21?! How? Lol a belated happy birthday to Ruthie! I'm just coming back from a Gothic Cruise. Yes, Gothic themed lol. It was a lot of fun and I met some pretty awesome people so I'm celebrating that. Hope you are feeling better.
Oh my goodness I laughed so hard looking at the bar set. What a great way to know you've got a great friend! And congratulations on having an 'official' adult!
I've been celebrating my new second citizenship in the UK, and a successful surgery outcome for my mother-in-law.
Oh, how lovely!!!!! Happy birthday Ruthie, and congratulations Jen on having a 21-year-old! My parents are getting a new 50-year-old later this year, and this post of yours has made me smile both for you AND for me - and how it's making me think of my own relationships with those of my own age!
Congratulations on both counts! Wow, 21 seems so far away for my kids, but I know it’s right around the corner. Kids friends who become our friends are such a treasure!
Thank you! I made some great parent friends through elementary and middle school. Some lasted, some faded as our situation changed. I didn’t interact with high school parents as much since the kids were more independent by then.
Love it. You have the best stories! Great job on 100 posts. I have enjoyed them all. Worth celebrating.
I am celebrating that I believe my February sickness is finally coming to an end. Not over, over but not interrupting my life anymore. cough, cough, cough. I am also celebrating my updated living room. John scraped the ceiling, painted the walls and put in new flooring. Our old furniture and wall hangings look new and modern. Like this color was what they wanted all along. So I guess I am celebrating Sherwin Williams "Taupe of the Morning". ha ha.
And Riss dumping the narcissist. Yesterday I cut a couple pages out of the shutterfly book I made with her senior pictures. They got pictures together and I added a few at the end of the book with the thought that I could just cut them out if they broke up. (they were planning marriage when I made the book, I go where my kids go, but I am also a realist.) It was an incredibly satisfying moment.
Congratulations on the special milestone! I'm celebrating submitting a chapter to AWP for their writing mentor program! Oh, and the longer days of spring + sunshine arriving 😄
Congratulations on having a 21-year old daughter, Jen!
I'm celebrating the fact that the cherry blossom season is almost upon us here in Tokyo.

That’s so cool! I knew you were doing improv over there, but I didn’t realize you were the one organizing it! 👏👏👏

I know! Hard to believe that nugget with CHEEKS is 21! The cruise sounds fun!
Yes! Those cheeks! ❤️ It really was! We got to mingle with the bands all week as well which was pretty cool. Sammy came too!

omg “I go where my kids go, but I am also a realist.” I just realized THIS is the similarity of our parenting style! 😂
I want my next copywriting job to be naming things like paint colors called “taupe of the mornin.”

omg this whole week is going to be sunny and I’m so excited! ☀️
VERY exciting re the AWP submission. (Are you going to Write Doe Bay in April?)
I can’t make it in April. Hoping to try for October if my bank account allows, ha
You did it! You raised a human! Or are they not done yet at 21? 🤔
Over here I am celebrating getting another paying gig as a storyteller, I'm going to Santa Barbara next month!
haha no they are not done yet. Maybe never? Am I even a real adult? Kind of fun to to shift more into coaching mode tho.
Paid storytelling gigs are amazing - congratulations! 🎊
Happy 21 to your daughter! Here is to many, many happy hours :)
thank you!
Woot! Officially accepted at Alabama (online) to start my master’s in library science!!
