I live on the Olympic Peninsula (Poulsbo) so I am well versed in the romance of the ferry:) Until you miss it that is😂I hope you enjoyed your space between in Whidbey, it’s a beautiful place.
i too love the space between, it's always felt like a magical suspended pocket of time where the usual rules of time and schedule dont apply. subscribed, excited to read more from you!
i also have been writing holiday musings on my newsletter, FRESH! let me know what you think:
I’m planning in my head what I’m going to grow in the garden and on the allotment. So I guess the plants have already started to grow there.
Probably 4 weeks away from thinking about planting some tomato seeds which is always the first thing along with maybe some potatoes chitting in the bathroom.
Thanks for the song link. Lovely, and it prompted me to take John O Donohue's book "To Bless the Space Between Us" off the shelf. We have a child in Seattle and took the ferry to Bainbridge Island this fall. Will have to see Whidbey next time! Happy New Year.
That was a beautiful post and the perfect song. Thank you for sharing. 🥰

😂 We were definitely more relaxed going to Whidbey than when we go to Orcas Island where you have to be on time for a ferry reservation!
Looks beautiful! Even better when you get to enjoy it from the window with a good cup of coffee.
Love the Pac Northwest! Brings back memories of living in Portland and drives up to Seattle.
I’ve made that drive many times!

You’re totally right about this time of year.
